My practice moves through translation as both method and metaphor. Working across sculpture, printmaking, sound, text and moving image, I explore how meaning shifts as it is carried between materials, languages and forms. Recent research has centred on translating the short stories of my late grandfather, Bogusław Sławomir Kunda, whose writing on Soviet-occupied Poland, memory and family history has become a way of navigating questions of inheritance, nostalgia and transnational identity.

I am interested in attentive forms of listening and looking — in the decisions involved in what is kept, omitted or transformed through processes of translation. My work often begins with close technical or material investigation, using sound, engraving, print processes and digital manipulation to examine the surface of things and the infrastructures beneath them. Influenced by ideas around Deep Listening, narrative fragmentation and “surface as method”, I approach artworks as spaces where meaning is accumulated slowly: partial, unstable and shaped by the viewer’s own experiences.

Alongside studio practice, collaboration and dialogue remain central to my work. I see artistic practice as something embedded within communities, conversations and shared acts of support.
